My favourite nursing quote

Here is my day 3 of the NHS Horizons: 30 day blogger challenge.

Today I’m going to share with you, my favourite nursing quote. This was quite tricky because I have so many wonderful quotes I love and that have inspired me throughout my nursing journey so far.

So I have picked my top 3!

Firstly, the wonderful Mary Seacole. She speaks such humble beautiful words that hit home to your heart, like this one.

“And the grateful words and smile which reward me for binding up a wound or giving a cooling drink was a pleasure worth risking my life for at any time” – Mary Seacole.

Secondly is the marvellous Maya Angelou, one of the most inspirational women around!

I found this quote recently, it was shared by the wonderful Louise Brady via Twitter. It just reminds me that, no matter how your day is going, always be there for your patient! There will always be someone out there far worse off than you. So be their rainbow 🌈

And lastly, I have to mention Mother Teresa! This was one of the quotes I found whilst working in healthcare. I have always loved community nursing / care and this quote just sums that up beautifully. Not only this buMTt it represents why I originally wanted to nurse. To take care of my family; who unfortunately I couldn’t care for when I was younger as I didn’t have the right knowledge and training to do that between 7-15 years old. I’m now on that successful path πŸ’™ to care for my future family.
